4. Who we share it with

We share your quote-request data with up to 4 SEAI-registered solar installers serving your county. These installers are the only third parties who receive the property and project details you submit. We choose them based on proximity, SEAI registration status, Safe Electric / RECI certification and current response performance.

We do not sell your data to general marketing databases, third-party advertisers, or list brokers. We do not pass your details to installers outside your matched set.

We use a small number of standard service providers as data processors who handle data on our behalf under written contracts:

  • Web hosting and form processing.
  • Email delivery (transactional confirmations to you and installers).
  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4, configured with IP anonymisation).
  • CRM software that stores quote requests and tracks installer responses.

We may also disclose data where required by Irish law, by a court order, or to defend our legal rights.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers (notably analytics and email delivery) may transfer data outside the European Economic Area, including to the United States. Where this happens, transfers are protected either by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

6. How long we keep it

  • Quote-request data shared with installers: retained for 24 months from submission, so we can resolve any disputes about the introduction and so installers can follow up on your enquiry within a normal sales cycle.

  • Email marketing subscriber data (opt-in only): retained until you unsubscribe, then removed within 30 days.

8. Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the site to work (form submission, session state). These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4, configured with IP anonymisation. These help us see which pages perform and where visitors come from. You can opt out via our cookie banner on first visit.

We do not use third-party advertising trackers (no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads remarketing, no programmatic ad networks). If that changes, this notice and the cookie banner will be updated before any new tracker is deployed.

9. Children

This site is intended for property owners and occupiers aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data to us, contact hello@solarquotesireland.ie and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use HTTPS across the site, encrypted database storage, access controls on all systems that handle personal data, and we keep software patched. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the protective steps a reasonable Irish operator would expect.

11. Changes to this notice

We review this notice at least once a year and whenever there is a material change to how we handle data. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent meaningful change. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be flagged on the homepage and, where required, communicated directly.
